Rising R&B sensation Raiche has unveiled her latest single, “Big Daddy,” released via GDE/Island Prolific/Atlantic Records. This sultry track, co-produced by Cardiak (known for his work with H.E.R. and Jazmine Sullivan) and Wu10 (credited for collaborations with Anthony Hamilton and Ari Lennox), carries a captivating groove characterized by warm bass notes.
“Big Daddy” sees Raiche listing the qualities she seeks in a future partner, providing a soulful and comforting embrace just in time for the cooler months ahead. The inspiration for the song came from Raiche’s desire to regain a sense of sensuality and self-assuredness following the end of a past relationship. She wanted to capture the essence of feeling lovable, sexy, and open to trust once more.
Raiche shared her thoughts on the song’s title, explaining that while she initially had reservations about the term “Big Daddy,” she redefined it to reflect what she’s seeking in a partner – a real man who treats her well. She emphasized the song’s sensuality and class, making it an intentionally sexy and authentic expression of her desires.
“Big Daddy” marks Raiche’s first release of the year, following the drop of two singles, “Feelings” and “Fool,” in 2022. “Fool” was considered the lead single from her anticipated debut album, Loveland, although no updates have been announced regarding the album’s release. In 2019, Raiche made her mark with the debut EP Drive, which featured popular tracks like “Complicated” and “Money Pies.“
