Puerto Rican artist Maldy hits the Billboard Hot 100 after collaborating with Karol G on the recently released single “Gatúbela.” The reggaetón star was shocked when he was contacted by the Colombian artist’s rep, “Karol G’s team reached out to me, and five days later, I was in Barcelona filming the music video.”

Mostly known for his work as Plan B with Chencho Corleone, Maldy couldn’t let the opportunity slip away despite the process being, “very fast, random, and challenging.”

Maldy confessed that he had just signed with Warner Music Latina and was working on his  comeback album Sin Maldy No Hay Perreo when he got the offer, “I had to stop all my plans to focus on this track and give it my 100 percent. I’m really happy with everything that’s happening with the song and my career right now. Truthfully, it really surprised me that out of everyone in the industry, I made my comeback with Karol G.”

Produced by DJ Maff, “Gatúbela” is the ultimate old-school reggaetón track with aggressive perreo beats.  Released on August 25, the single earned Maldy his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, hitting No. 4 on the multi-metric Hot Latin Songs chart, No. 15 on Latin Rhythm Airplay and No. 39 on Latin Airplay.
