The “Prince of Reggaeton” shares the throne with Justin Bieber no more. J Balvin now holds the record of the musician with the most videos exceeding one billion views on YouTube.

Released on October 11, 2019, “RITMO (Bad Boys For Life)” is Balvin’s 12th music video to reach a billion views. The collaboration with the popular music group Black Eyed Peas, which is from the soundtrack of the 2020 movie Bad Boys for Life, samples Corona’s ’90s superhit “Rhythm of the Night.” The Hip Hop, Pop, and Reggaeton mix track lead the Billboard Hot Dance & Electronic Songs and Hot Latin Songs charts back in 2020.

JosĂ© Álvaro Osorio BalvĂn has another 11 billion-view videos, which include the singles “Mi Gente,” featuring Willy William, “X (Equis)” with Nicky Jam, “Con Altura” with RosalĂa, the massive urbana collaboration “China” with Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Karol G and Ozuna, the “No Me Conoce” remix with Bad Bunny and Jhayco, “I Like It” with Cardi B and Bad Bunny, “Ahora Dice” with Chris Jedi, Ozuna, and Arcangel, among others.

J Balvin’s “Ay Vamos” earned the Colombian singer the title of the first Latin urban artist to reach a billion-view video, and made him the third Latin artist of any genre to garner 10-digit numbers, right behind Enrique Iglesias (“Bailando”) and Romeo Santos. (“Propuesta Indecente”)
