Shakira Drops A New Song Following Her Split From Gerard Pique

1 min read

Following her split from Barcelona center-back Gerard Pique, Shakira has released a song that is expected to be the summer’s biggest hit.

Her new single, ‘Don’t You Worry,’ is a collaboration with David Guetta and the Black Eyed Peas, who have been exploring Latin rhythms after previously working with Shakira on ‘Girl Like Me.’ This will be the first time that these three household names have collaborated on a song.

The song was announced on the artists’ social networks on June 17th. The video clip is futuristic in style. In terms of lyrics, Shakira’s and some of the American group’s parts could be interpreted as a message to the Colombian singer’s fans.

Some lines from ‘Don’t you worry’

I feel so alive, I’ma live my best life
Do just, do just what I like
Get that, get that, get that press
I was down now I rise up
Head up and my eyes up
I keep getting wiser

It’s worth noting that Shakira’s most recent song, ‘Te Felicito,’ with Rauw Alejandro, saw an increase in views after her divorce from Pique was made public.
