While fans have been saying their goodbyes to Modern Family for the past two years, Jesse Tyler Ferguson has stated that it doesn’t have to be fully over. On the star-studded red carpet, the actor, who won his first Tony Award on Sunday, confirmed to ET that a script for a spinoff exists, but it has yet to find a home.

When ET’s Lauren Zima inquired if a spinoff was possible, he said, “The script is out there and it’s extremely good.” “As a result, who knows? Maybe if someone wants to make it.”

In May, he said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that he believes ABC eventually decided against it.Jesse told ET that: “I’m feeling right now honored and overwhelmed and nervous ’cause this is a community of people I respect so greatly so, you know, I just wanna get everything right and, if I win, I’ll be even more nervous ’cause I wanna get the speech right.”
