The platform’s premier Latin music playlist, Viva Latino, lists the Latin musicians expected to have a major cultural effect and breakthrough in the music business in 2023.
Four female Latin musicians from this year’s list were Puerto Rican rappers Villano Antillano (6.2M monthly listeners) and Young Miko (1.6M monthly listeners), who were both chosen for Spotify’s RADAR global program for emerging artists.
Spotify’s Latin musicians to watch list also includes Puerto Rican artist Paopao (2.1M monthly listeners) and Argentine singer-songwriter Emilia (7.2M monthly listeners). Paopao performed on stage during the Spotify-hosted after-party of Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour in December 2022.
With over 13 million followers, the Viva Latino playlist is the most popular Latin music playlist on Spotify and one of the most popular playlists overall. It acts as a global stage for the sounds of Latin music.
