Camila Cabello had the chance to compete in another singing contest before she became a coach on The Voice. Years later, she was able to perform the song “Havana” together with the other coaches during season 22 of the program.
The former Fifth Harmony member described performing on stage with Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, and John Legend as “such an honor” in a recently released behind-the-scenes video.
“They’re such incredible artists I feel almost embarrassed that they sang my song,” Cabello says, as reported by People. “But it was really cool!”
The vocalists reportedly worked together to produce the arrangement for the first time. The 25-year-old actress from Cuban America claimed that it “moved very quick.”
“The rehearsal arrangement process was very loose,” she says. “We did like one quick 15-minute rehearsal [during lunch], which was cool because we didn’t have time to overthink things. The next day we performed it, we ran over it a few times, and then we [filmed] it.”
But not everyone was as thrilled as Camila! They all “had so much fun,” according to Stefani, Legend, and Shelton, who also described singing “Havana” as an amazing experience. “It was so fun looking over at everybody,” she says. “Honestly, it felt like a huge honor.”
