With help from The Rudeboyz, Maluma and Adam Levine will release their joint Spanish-language single “Ojalá.” The song will be made available on October 20th through Sony Music Latin and the creative powerhouse NEON16, along with a video directed by Diane Martel.
According to the official press release, throughout the course of his years spent touring Latin America, Adam’s appreciation for Latin music and culture increased. He had been looking for a song that would combine the mood and movement of Latin music with his tone and voice.
He worked with Anuel AA and Tainy on the song “Button” from Maroon 5’s most recent album JORDI, which sparked his desire to sing in Spanish on a Latin record. “Ojalá” gave him the chance to do so by fusing Maluma’s sensual lyrics with Adam’s recognizable tone and melodies to create the ideal Latin pop track.
On October 20, “Ojalá” by The Rudeboyz, Maluma, and Adam Levine will be made available on all digital streaming services.
Levine stated last year that the band’s upcoming album is titled JORDI in honor of the late manager of Maroon 5. Its name, “Jordi,” honors our unfortunately deceased former manager who was terrific and amazing and died a few years ago.
In order to pay honor to their son, the 42-year-old told Ellen DeGeneres during her 3,000th edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, “We believed there was no greater tribute than to name the album after our kid.”
