Following the success of his 2017 hit Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi returns to direct the upcoming fourth standalone Thor film, with Chris Hemsworth reprising his starring role. Thor: Love and Thunder picks up immediately after the events of Avengers: Endgame, with Thor assembling a formidable team of heroes to defeat Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who is attempting to wipe out all remaining gods.
The film’s trailers have hinted that Thor is having an existential crisis this time around, with the character struggling to find his place in the universe. The return of Natalie Portman’s character adds to Thor’s inner turmoil.
