King Charles III is reportedly planning to reassign property from his brother, Prince Andrew, to Queen Camilla after his death. King Charles, who is currently dealing with cancer, intends to transfer the Royal Lodge estate from Prince Andrew to Queen Camilla.
Royal expert Richard Eden explains, “Upon Charles’ death, Camilla would become the dowager queen, stepmother to King William. William will inherit everything from his father, similar to how Charles did from his mother, including Clarence House, the London residence of Charles and Camilla.” Eden adds, “William already owns Highgrove, the King’s cherished home in Gloucestershire.”
When King Charles III passes away, his eldest son, William, will ascend to the throne. Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, will be titled “Her Majesty The Queen,” and Camilla will become “Her Majesty Queen Camilla,” known as the dowager queen consort.
As the new King, William is not obligated to provide for Camilla. However, tradition suggests that a dowager queen lives in a secondary royal residence of her choosing. Eden remarks, “Charles will want to ensure Camilla maintains her current lifestyle. This might include securing her a retreat in Windsor Great Park.”
