Denver indie slackers, Bellhoss, treat listeners to their newest sonic creation with the release of the single “Denny’s“, accompanied by an engaging music video. This track marks the second glimpse into the band’s forthcoming EP, A Rose, a Thorn, slated for release on Valentine’s Day. Following the success of last year’s single Better Now and the 2021 EP Hiding, Bellhoss continues to carve their niche in the indie scene.
““Denny’s” takes a unique angle, delving into the world of working for Grubhub. The song, accompanied by a vibrant visual narrative in the music video, adds depth to Bellhoss’s repertoire. The band’s distinct sound, reminiscent of influences like Waxahatchee, Wednesday, and early Cat Power, resonates with catchy, energetic tunes that explore themes ranging from bad jobs to family drama, food, and flowers.
Becky Hostetler, the driving force behind Bellhoss, shares insights into the upcoming EP, stating, “I wrote these songs back in 2018, when I quit my corporate job, got a roommate and started my life over spiritually and practically. We’ve cut our teeth playing them as a full band for the last 3 years, including in Denver’s Underground Music Showcase, Westword Music Showcase, and loads of other venues around Denver (and Cold Beer, NM). We’re excited about what else lies ahead in 2024. :)”
In addition to the single release, Bellhoss invites fans to participate in an engaging contest on their Instagram. The band’s proactive engagement with their audience adds a dynamic layer to their musical journey, fostering a sense of community and excitement among listeners.
As Bellhoss unveils the indie gem “Denny’s” and gears up for the release of A Rose, a Thorn, their trajectory in 2024 holds promise. The band’s commitment to authenticity and their unique storytelling approach positions them as a noteworthy presence in the indie rock landscape. Tune in to the infectious sounds of “Denny’s” and stay tuned for the full EP experience on Valentine’s Day.
