21 Savage, a luminary in the rap scene, has announced the release of his third solo album, American Dream, set to drop this Friday, January 12th. This album isn’t just a collection of tracks but is intricately tied to the soundtrack of 21 Savage’s debut film, American Dream: The 21 Savage Story, which also teased its trailer recently.

“American Dream” marks a significant moment in 21 Savage’s career, being his first solo studio album since the critically acclaimed 2018 release i am > i was. That album not only catapulted Savage to his first #1 spot on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart as a solo artist but also earned him a GRAMMY nomination for ‘Best Rap Album’ and a win for ‘Best Rap Song’ with the track “a lot.”

The film, “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story,” is a creative collaboration directed by the talented Donald Glover, Stephen Glover, Jamal Olori, and Fam Udeorji. It tells a gripping narrative across three generations of 21 Savage, portrayed by Glover and McLaughlin, set against the backdrop of a profound personal crisis. The project, produced by Tara Razavi and Udeorji, promises to be a cinematic experience blending music and storytelling.

The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into the new music from 21 Savage and features a star-studded cast. This includes five-time GRAMMY winner Donald Glover, Caleb McLaughlin of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” Golden Globe nominee Natasha Lyonne, “Bel-Air” star Jabari Banks, Victoria Pedretti from “The Haunting of Hill House,” Young Mazino of “Beef,” Chad Lindberg known for “Fast & Furious,” Gail Bean from “Snowfall,” and Atlanta comedian Druski.
