Lizzo took to Instagram to share a glimpse of her impromptu karaoke performance in a photo and video carousel, captioned “What does Lizzo do after her shows…???” The carousel included a video of the multi-talented artist singing a ’90s classic, none other than Radiohead‘s iconic hit, “Creep.”
It turns out that Lizzo has long been a fan of Radiohead, even revealing in a previous interview with Vanity Fair that they were one of her favorite bands. However, during her younger years, she kept her love for the band under wraps to avoid potential ridicule from her peers.
“I kept it hidden, even when I was in a rock band,” Lizzo confessed. “because I didn’t want to be made fun of by my peers – they’d yell, ‘White girl!’ Also, I was wearing these flared bell bottoms with embroidery down it – and they’d say, ‘You look like a white girl, why do you want to look like a hippie?'”
Despite the challenges she faced, Lizzo‘s passion for music, regardless of genre, prevailed, and her karaoke rendition of “Creep” proves her vocal prowess knows no bounds. The clip showcased her belting out soulful notes, leaving the audience captivated by her enchanting performance.
This unexpected and delightful karaoke moment is just another testament to Lizzo‘s authenticity and her ability to effortlessly connect with her fans on a personal level. As she continues to bring her unique flair and unwavering talent to stages worldwide, it’s moments like these that remind us why Lizzo has become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
