Just recently, Spotify announced its 2022 Wrapped list. The new marketing and tailored user experience highlight the best musicians, songs, albums, and podcasts among the platform’s 456 million global listeners.
Bad Bunny is the most streamed artist worldwide for the third consecutive year. He is the first artist to reach this milestone with more than 18.5 billion streams this year. With his fourth studio album, Un Verano Sin Ti, Bad Bunny is also at the top of the list of the most streamed albums.
Additionally, 2022 turned out to be a great year for Latina performers.
Anitta, the most-played Brazilian singer outside of Brazil, became the first Brazilian artist to top the charts when her song Envolver peaked at #1 on Spotify’s Global Charts. With a 21-spot rise from 2021, Karol G (#27 top streamed artist globally) maintains her position as the most streamed Latina artist for a third consecutive year.
RosalĂa (#84), Anitta (#135), and Shakira (#57) all advanced significantly over the course of the previous year. Shakira rose 29 ranks to land at the top slot.
With over 1.3 billion plays, Rosala’s MOTOMAMI is the Latin female artist’s most streamed album. Temporary tattoos featuring lyrics from the songs were used by Spotify to promote the album’s premiere in a custom video.
