Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on your back-to-back powerful releases, “Messy” and now “Show Up”! Can you share a few details about your creative process? How do you usually come up with your songs?

Hi! Thank You so much 🙂 I’m super happy about them. I’m a songwriter so I usually write about what’s going on in my life, stuff I need to get off my chest etc. I wrote the lyrics and with the help of my producer Mauro we made it come to life. He’s amazing at understanding just how I’m feeling and where I want the track to go. I used to always start from the music and write stuff on my guitar but nowadays I’m more inclined to write lyrics then go for it. It varies.

Let’s dig deep into “Show Up”! What does the song represent? What urged you to write it?

The song is a very unfiltered and unedited look into my mind, my fears, my shortcomings but also acknowledging how far I’ve come and how strong this has made me. It’s also a thank you note to those that have been by my side and are a continuous support.

You’ve added a lot of ‘90s Old School sounds to this track. What does that era mean to you? “Show Up” delivers that perfect nostalgia wrapped in present-day beats. How did you manage to achieve that nuance?

As cool as I try to be, I will always be a Millennial and that is something that affects my sound deeply. A lot of my inspo is early 2000s/ late 90s pop and RNB and I’m always trying to bring back that MTV, pre social-media feeling we used to get. I want my music to feel like waking up to watch music videos and buying CDs at the mall. We used a lot of synths from back when, kept it simple, vocal layering and a little rap moment too.

When shall we expect the music video for “Show Up” to come out? What kind of surprises do you have in store for your fans?

The music video is coming out on Friday on YouTube (it’s more of a visual diary really) and I might have a little live performance of the track coming for you too 🙂

What other genres would you like to experiment with in the future?

I’m a huge techno, rock n roll and jazz fan so the possibilities are endless.

Which is the ultimate go-to song that lifts you up when you’re having a bad day?

“What a Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers ..always and forever.

How has your multicultural background and experience helped you in your music production? Have traveling and living in different countries influenced your music?

I think my multicultural background has certainly played a role in my music and I always think that traveling is really the ultimate inspiration for us artists, it creates experiences, which in turn create new content to write about.

If you could be the opening act for any artist in the world, who would you choose and why? Who are some of the artists that you follow? Who would you like to collaborate with?

Right now I would probably love to open up for Rosalía, Dua Lipa or The Weeknd. And as far as collabs are involved I’d definitely say one of these artists or Daft Punk.. A girl can dream right?
