Maluma took the stage at the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2022 for a spectacular show introducing his song “Junio.” The Colombian superstar was in a romantic mood as he sang “La luna se escondió apenas te vio/Porque tú brilla’ más que ella,” which roughly translates to “The moon hid as soon as it say you, because you shine brighter than it does.”

Prior to his arrival, Maluma had announced that he had prepared a surprise for the gala. The Latin sensation performed “Junio” for the first time and didn’t release the song on any of the streaming platforms until the end of his show. The dazzling act began with a large banner claiming his land, Medellin, recreating the city and hosting a party surrounded by musicians and dancers.

Written by Maluma and Edgar Barrera, the R&B-funk song is about yearning for a long-time crush. The fun-loving music video for “Junio” starts with the scene where  the singer-songwriter is begging for a miracle; for his crush to stop ignoring him.
