Anitta & Missy Elliott Collaborate On The Upbeat Funk Single “Lobby”

1 min read

Anitta and Missy Elliott have finally released the single and music video for “Lobby” via Warner Records on Thursday, bringing their much-awaited collaboration to life.

The new project, which Ryan Tedder produced, fuses funk and disco in English with the seductive lyric “kiss me from the roof to the lobby.” Missy adds her rap rhymes to the song.

Following “El Que Espera,” which features Maluma, “Lobby” is the second song from Anitta’s Versions of Me Deluxe album, which will be released on August 25.

“I wanted Missy on a song, but I never thought that would be possible. I mean … I don’t know … she just said yes! She heard the song and said yes. She searched for all my other works and my music and my songs. She just said yes and I couldn’t believe it! When I got the verse and heard it I was like, ‘OH MY GOD!’ I jumped from the bed and was like, ‘OH MY GOD.’ And then when she came to shoot the music video, I cried when she got there. I was crying, I was like, ‘I can’t believe this is happening.’”

The Brazilian songstress said in an interview with Apple Music

Early in July, Anitta hinted at a collaboration with Missy by posting on her Instagram stories that she was filming a video with the rapper and remarking, “It’s not a dream.”
