For their brand-new song “Cracker Island,” Gorillaz has hired Thundercat. Greg Kurstin, Gorillaz, and Remi Kabaka Jr. produced the song. The video is below.

According to a press release, the imaginary band has recently been inviting followers to join something called “The Last Cult,” with cartoon bassist Murdoc Niccals serving as the group’s “self-appointed Great Leader.” In a statement, singer 2-D said, “It’s good to be back, I’m well into our new music, it brings back bizarre and terrible recollections of stuff that hasn’t happened yet.”

Currently, on tour in Europe, Gorillaz will start their North American leg in September. Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez was released by Gorillaz in 2020. Damon Albarn has released a solo album since then. The stream flows more purely the closer it is to the fountain. Billie Eilish and Albarn recently shared the stage at Coachella.

After releasing It Is What It Is, Thundercat won the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B Album the following year. In addition to his North American tour, the singer and bassist is currently touring in Europe.
