On Monday, June 13, Selena Gomez talked about her time on Wizards of Waverly Place, her friendship with Demi Lovato, and more on The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.
The pop diva talked about sitting in an open call with 1,400 other children for her first audition for Barney during the interview. She recalled, “They chose seven of those youngsters, and I just so happened to be one of them.”
Lovato, who would later go on to become Gomez’s best friend, competition, and co-star on the Disney Channel, was one of the other seven young hopefuls. The most bizarre aspect of the tale, according to Gomez, is that it involved the female who was in front of him.
āI remember she had a red bow on, Iāll never forget itā¦I just thought the world of her. And we both ended up after we got the part, we didnāt know if the other one did. And we just had this, like, mini reunion when we saw each other,ā the pop star said.
