Everything We Know About Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2

1 min read

Though music played an unexpectedly important role in the first half of Netflix’s Stranger Things 4, volume 1 never got around to giving Eddie Munson the sick guitar seen in the season’s early trailers. However, in the first Stranger Things Volume 2 teaser, the outgoing king of Hawkins High’s Hellfire Club receives his ax just in time for an epic battle in the Upside Down.

Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 revealed the origins of Vecna, the malevolent presence that’s been threatening Hawkins for years, and established that Eleven and her friends are truly one of the only groups capable of defeating the creature as it tries to enter their world from the Upside Down. In the brand-new everyone is under pressure as they are dragged back to Hawkins, armed with new information about what they’re up against and the seriousness of the threat Vecna poses. Though Dr. Martin Brenner is skeptical that Eleven’s newly restored powers will be sufficient to stand up to the first of her kind, Vecna’s approach forces her to return to her hometown to confront him.

The trailer doesn’t say when or how Eleven will reunite with her friends this season, but it does show them all venturing into the Upside Down, presumably to beat Vecna down with the power of Kate Bush’s music. While shots of Max’s cassette player imply that she will play a role in bringing the demon down, the focus on Eddie discovering a guitar strongly suggests that when Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 arrives on Netflix on July 1st, the epic battle it builds toward will be one hell of a jam session.
