Tourette’s Syndrome is ‘exhausting,’ According to Billie Eilish

In an interview with David Letterman for his Netflix series “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” the singer discussed having Tourette’s syndrome.

Eilish, who was diagnosed with the neurological disorder at the age of 11, said people sometimes misunderstand what is going on.

“The most common reaction is laughter because they think I’m trying to be funny,” she explained. “And I’m always deeply offended by that.”

Other artists have told her they have Tourette’s, but she isn’t going to name them because they don’t want to talk about it, according to the 20-year-old Grammy winner. She stated that, while some of her tics have subsided, she still has them.

“These are things you would never notice if you’re just having a conversation with me,” Eilish said. “But for me they’re very exhausting.”
