Olga Tañón, the Puerto Rican powerhouse whose career has blazed across nearly four decades, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at Billboard Latin Women in Music 2025. The two-hour special will also stream on Universo, Peacock, and the Telemundo app is set to air live on April 24 at 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on Telemundo.

Olga Tañó did earn her award due to her explosive impact on merengue and Latin pop. Her journey began in the mid-’80smid-’80s and has since earned her 20 albums on Billboard’sBillboard’s Top Latin Albums chart — including two No. 1 smashes: Llévame Contigo and Te Acordarás de Mí.

Olga Tañón has a deep influence on Latin music. Not only does she hold the record for the Top 10 entries by a female artist on Billboard’s Tropical Airplay chart (a staggering 29), but her voice and vision helped shape the foundation of tropical Latin music. Her versatility and fire have carved her name into the cultural canon — earning her the No. 8 spot on Billboard’s Billboard’s list of the 50 Greatest Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time.
But that’s not all.

Joining the celebration is the Brazilian sensation who shook the global stage — Anitta. She’s set to receive the Vanguard Award, recognizing her role as a boundary-breaking, norm-defying, trilingual trailblazer. Her 2017 breakout with J Balvin, “Downtown,” made waves on the Hot Latin Songs chart, but ” Envolver ” truly blew the doors off — reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200 and cementing her as a force across continents.

And then there’s Chiquis — the bold and brilliant Mexican-American singer who’s forging her own path in the shadow of a legendary legacy. She’ll be honored with the Impact Award for her wide-ranging contributions to both the music industry and broader society. A three-time Latin Grammy winner, Chiquis has released chart-topping banda albums like Ahora and Entre Botellas while also producing her own TV shows through Busy Bee Productions and hosting her popular podcast Chiquis and Chill.

The 2025 Latin Women in Music will be more than just a show — it’s a statement. And with more honorees to be announced, it’s clear that Latin music’s future is female.

So, stay tuned.
