Since lockdown is apparently over, we are allowing ourselves to be excited about things again. One such thing is going for a bottomless brunch in London. And if that makes us basic, so be it. Otherwise, let’s discuss the best bottomless brunches in London.
1. SWINGERS
Sometimes you want something more than a conventional bottomless brunch. After all, sitting down and drinking was what you did in lockdown. A bottomless brunch at Swingers, however, comes with a round of crazy golf. And, as if that wasn’t exciting enough, your food options include Patty & Bun burgers, Breddos Tacos and Pizza Pilgrims. The word ‘fun’ doesn’t even cover it.

2. RUDIE’S JERK SHACK
If you like rum punch and brunch classics with a Jamaican twist, you’re in luck: the Brixton branch of Rudie’s Jerk Shack offers just that and – for 90 heavenly minutes – the rum punch is bottomless. In terms of those ‘brunch classics with a Jamaican twist’, the jerk pork eggs benedict is a revelation.

3. TOKII
Whether you order Japanese fare like the Akatoki breakfast (a tamago omelette with miso soup, rice, steamed vegetables, grilled salmon and egg tofu) or something more conventional like eggs florentine, a bottomless brunch at TOKii feels almost as glamorous as being on a first class fight to Tokyo – there’s even potential for turbulence on account of the free-flowing sparkling sake.

4. ROKA
A bottomless brunch at the award-winning ROKA is referred to as a han setto brunch. Expect ten dishes – including sushi, gyoza and edamame – to start, a single dish of your choice from the robata grill (the Japanese cuisine ROKA is principally known for) and an entire dessert platter. The booze flows freely too, but only if you want it to.

Based in Bankside, we recommend OXBO for 90 minutes of inebriated gluttony. With four courses straddling the breakfast and lunch boundary, you might want to forgo dinner once this is over. The hardest part, however, occurs at the open kitchen – how are we supposed to choose between eggs royale and pancakes?

6. SOUTH PLACE CHOP HOUSE
Located at the South Place Hotel, South Place Chop House is an excellent destination for those who wish to consume both breakfast, lunch and dessert items in one sitting. The eggs are Burford Brown and the fish finger sandwich is a Posh Fish Finger Sandwich, which obviously impresses us – and maybe you too.

7. HAKKASAN
While it’s not technically bottomless, the weekend brunch at Hakkasan starts with an aperitif cocktail (we tend to choose the Lychee Martini) and – whatever drinks are selected from that point – ends in contentment. Anticipate a crispy duck salad with pomelo, pine nuts and shallots, seven variations of dim sum, a – prawn or beef – main, the necessary sides and the infamous Jivara bomb for dessert. There is, of course, also a vegetarian option.
