John K’s “Never Been In Love” Captures Euphoria and Intimacy Ahead of New Album

John K continues his heartfelt rollout toward SALT + LIGHT with the new single “Never Been In Love,” a shimmering pop anthem rooted in real-life intimacy. The track, out now via Epic Records, is a high-energy celebration of love’s transformative power, wrapped in sharp production and emotional honesty.

Inspired by a text conversation with his wife, the song flips its title’s uncertainty into a statement of awe—how the right person can make everything that came before feel irrelevant. “Like I’ve never been in love before,” she wrote back. That line became the anchor of the song, and you can hear its sincerity in every word.

Produced by Grant Boutin (Tate McRae, Meghan Trainor), the track balances emotional weight with dancefloor euphoria. The percussion is brisk, the guitar lines cut clean, and John’s vocals glide with conviction. His performance radiates joy but stays grounded in storytelling, making the track feel both immediate and timeless.

“Never Been In Love” follows the singles “Honey” and “River,” each of which has built on John’s expanding narrative around growth, vulnerability, and connection. “Honey” explored anxiety in a pop setting, while “River” leaned philosophical, and now this track offers a moment of unguarded gratitude.

The full album, SALT + LIGHT, arrives July 18, and will be supported by a 21-date North American tour kicking off July 31 in Seattle. The run includes stops in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto before wrapping up in his hometown of Orlando. Given the early singles, fans can expect a project that blends mainstream pop sensibilities with lived-in emotional detail.

If “Never Been In Love” is any indication, SALT + LIGHT will be John K’s most resonant work yet—a soundtrack not just to summer, but to life’s most meaningful shifts.
