Sleigh Bells, the Brooklyn-based noise pop duo formed by Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller, has unveiled a new song titled “This Summer” from their forthcoming album, Bunky Becky Birthday Boy. The album will be released on April 4, 2025, through Mom+Pop Music, marking their seventh studio album.

This Summer” is one of the eleven tracks included on the album, which also features previously released singles “Bunky Pop” and “Wanna Start a Band?”. The lyrics address the urgency and transient life, with phrases like “This summer might be your last” and “No more pleasure, no more pain.”

The album, Bunky Becky Birthday Boy, honors Krauss’ late dog, Riz, and celebrates the birth of her son, Wilder. The duo has incorporated these personal stories into their music, creating a narrative that fuses autobiography with fiction.

Sleigh Bells is recognized for dynamic live performances and has announced a tour to promote the new album. The tour will begin in May 2025, with performances planned across the U.S. and Canada, including major cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Toronto.

“This Summer” highlights the duo’s talent for creating catchy, high-energy songs while delving into more profound themes. As fans await the complete release of “Bunky Becky Birthday Boy,” “This Summer” offers a preview of the album’s combination of noise pop and thoughtful storytelling.
