Lucy Dacus Announces ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ Album

1 min read

In what feels like a cosmic alignment of indie rock’s brightest stars, Lucy Dacus has emerged from boygenius’s recent Grammy triumph to announce her fourth solo album, Forever Is A Feeling, due March 28th via Geffen Records. The announcement arrives with all the weight of an artist operating at the peak of her powers, fresh off her band’s three-Grammy haul and BRIT Award win for “the record.”

The upcoming album reads like an indie rock fantasy draft, featuring contributions from an all-star roster including Hozier, frequent collaborators Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, along with Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, and a murderer’s row of indie rock’s finest producers and musicians. The album’s cover art, a painting by Will St. John, suggests Dacus is leaning into the more artful, contemplative side of her artistic persona.

Two new singles, “Limerence” and “Ankles,” serve as our first glimpse into this new era. The latter arrives with a Paris-shot music video featuring Havana Rose Liu, suggesting Dacus isn’t just expanding her musical horizons but her visual aesthetic as well.

True to form, Dacus is taking an unconventional approach to touring the album, starting with a series of intimate museum shows in February before launching into a full North American tour in April. Katie Gavin of MUNA and jasmine.4.t will provide support on the spring dates, creating what promises to be one of the year’s most compelling touring packages.

In a refreshing display of artistic conscience, Dacus has partnered with PLUS1 to direct $1 from each ticket sale to support recovery efforts for communities affected by the LA wildfires. It’s a move that feels perfectly aligned with Dacus’s reputation for combining artistic excellence with social awareness.
