New Jersey-based alternative rock/pop-punk band Northvale are closing out the year on a high note with their latest single, “Bright Lights”. Released just in time for the holiday season, the track serves as the final preview of their debut full-length album, Where Do We Go When There’s Nothing Left, set to drop on January 29, 2025.
Since forming in 2020, Northvale have built a reputation for their emotive and heart-on-sleeve approach to pop-punk, blending raw lyricism with melodic guitar work that captures the energy of the genre’s roots. Collaboration has been a cornerstone of their music. Their debut EP, The Things We Used to Be, featured partnerships with artists like The Home Team, Broadside’s Oliver Baxxter, and Joey Fleming of In Her Own Words. The collection, released during the pandemic, resonated with fans through its themes of loss, heartbreak, and acceptance, offering a cathartic outlet during challenging times.
In 2024, the band returned to the studio with producers Brett Romnes (The Movielife, Hot Mulligan, Seaway) and Gary Cioni (Crime In Stereo, Lincoln Hotel Etiquette). This collaboration led to a series of standout releases, including “Better When I Can”, which tackled addiction, and “Already Dead”, a collaboration with AJ Perdomo of The Dangerous Summer. Their most personal release to date, “Hang in There Kid”, further deepened their connection with fans through its raw honesty.
“Bright Lights” continues this trajectory, offering a hopeful and positive outlook on the future. The song captures the band’s ability to draw on influences from the early 2000s Drive-Thru Records era while maintaining a contemporary and fresh sound. Lyrically uplifting and musically polished, the single showcases the band’s growth and readiness to step fully into the spotlight.
Northvale’s music, characterized by its candor and hook-filled alternative rock, has resonated deeply with both long-time listeners and new fans. As anticipation builds for their debut album, Where Do We Go When There’s Nothing Left, “Bright Lights” serves as a shining example of the band’s dedication to storytelling and emotional authenticity.
