The Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) has announced the honorees for the 2024 Wonder Women of Latin Music program, recognizing 22 women who have made significant contributions to the music industry. In partnership with Amazon Music, this initiative aims to highlight the achievements of women across various sectors of the Latin music landscape.
Established in 2020, Wonder Women of Latin Music is an integral part of the LAMC, serving as a platform to celebrate and uplift women in all facets of the Latin music industry. This year’s program will commence with a virtual event from April 24 to 26, culminating in a live event in New York City from July 9 to 13. Over the years, Wonder Women has honored more than 100 women, amplifying their impact through a dedicated social media campaign.
RocĂo Guerrero, Global Head of Latin Music for Amazon Music, expressed enthusiasm for honoring these remarkable women, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their contributions in shaping the global influence of Latin music.
Among this year’s honorees is Griselda Flores, senior editor at Billboard, renowned for her insightful coverage of Latin music. Joining her are esteemed figures such as Leila Cobo, Billboard’s Chief Content Officer for Latin/Español, and Sigal Ratner-Arias, deputy editor of Billboard Español. The list encompasses a diverse range of talents, including veteran publicists like RĂłndine AlcalĂĄ, Lyda Bulla, and RocĂo GutiĂ©rrez, among others.
