Puerto Rican reggaeton star Yandel and Ewing Athletics have joined forces for a groundbreaking collaboration, introducing a limited-edition sneaker named Ewing x Yandel Rogue. Set to be released in early 2024, this marks the first time the brand has partnered with a Latin music artist.
Yandel expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, âIâm a big fan and collector of sneakers and a big fan of NY Knicks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing. Now, I get to have my own shoe in collaboration with one of the shining stars in the sports world. It feels amazing to kick off the new year with the introduction of the Ewing x Yandel Rogue as the shoe will also be celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2024.â
Patrick Ewing, the Jamaican-American basketball coach and former professional athlete, added, âFor the first time in our brandâs history, we are collaborating with a Latin artist, so itâs only right that we collaborate with a legend.â
Both Yandel and Ewing participated in filming the product campaign in New York. The sneaker, designed with a grey and white nubuck and leather upper with scuba blue accents, will be presented in a special Ewing and Yandel branded box. Additionally, it comes with a Spanish-language booklet narrating the shoeâs story and tissue paper imprinted with the Puerto Rican flag.
The Ewing x Yandel Rogue will be available for purchase starting at 10 a.m. ET on January 5, 2024, through ewingathletics.com and yandel.com.
This collaboration follows Yandel’s two nominations at the 2023 Latin Grammys, his signing with Warner Music Latin, and his historic performance at the Empire State Building in New York during Hispanic Heritage Month.
