If you are looking for some experimental and dark electronic music, look no further than Golden Features. The Australian producer has just released his latest single, “Flesh“, a distorted and techno-inspired track that captures the feeling of being in a rave for hours. The song is an ode to his time in Berlin, where he fell in love with the underground scene and its culture.
“Flesh” is also the lead single from his upcoming album, Sisyphus, which will be out on July 7th via ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. The album is his first full-length effort in five years, following his debut album Sect in 2018. It will feature nine tracks, including collaborations with Rromarin, Louisahhh and BRONSON, his supergroup with ODESZA.
Golden Features said of his new album: “I wanted to push myself well beyond my comfort zone and try concepts that were unfamiliar to see what I was capable of.” He also described “Flesh” as one of the earlier demos from the album’s writing process: “It was a direct response to my time in Berlin and a song that encapsulated everything I fell in love with on my journeys. I wrote it trying to express feelings of being under the weight of an 8-hour session in the rave. Overstimulated, anxious and completely terrified of facing the real world outside. Finally gathering the courage to call it a night experiencing the surreal shift that is walking out of a windowless dungeon into a beautiful sunrise.”
