If you’re looking for a song to add to your 2023 summer playlist, then VINCINT’s new single, “Romance,” is definitely one to check out. Following the release of his emotional debut album, “There Will Be Tears,” VINCINT is now ready for a more playful and club-forward chapter of music.

Co-written with queer hitmaker MNEK, “Romance” is a massive dance anthem and comes with a Jake Wilson-directed music video, released today. Set inside a neon-lit, fog-filled party, the video depicts an evening out in West Hollywood, similar to the spaces where “Romance” is likely to be played in the coming months. VINCINT is seen alone in the crowd before zeroing in on his ideal love, flipping back and forth between what’s real and what’s fantasy.

The music video also features friends and stars, including Olympian Gus Kenworthy and RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Kerri Colby. They portray an evening out in West Hollywood, similar to the spaces where “Romance” is likely to be played in the coming months.

In an interview with PAPER, VINCINT shares that he intentionally made the video his most sexually charged to date, allowing viewers to catch a glimpse inside his wild little mind. The video is a combination of both reality and fantasy and showcases a room filled with colorful, beautiful Black and Brown bodies, dancing and being uninhibited.

“Romance” tells the story of a friend who had been done dirty and deserved better. VINCINT pulled no punches lyrically and had fun with it, taking down trash men in the process.

VINCINT wrote “Romance” with MNEK in London last October while on what was supposed to be a vacation. Making music for him is now very different; he is done crying, and the last year and a half has seen him push himself to step into a phase of his art where he can express all his artistry in the ways he has wanted to in the past.

“Romance” follows the success of VINCINT’s hit single, “Higher,” and is indicative of what’s to come in his new chapter of music. People want to feel alive in every moment of the day, and “Romance” delivers just that.
