Inglewood-native Latina artist, Becky G, takes listeners straight to the summer with her recent track “Arranca.” The single is accompanied by a picturesque music video directed by Karla Read and features Dominican mambo and merengue star Omega, aka “El Fuerte.”
Thanks to its urban merengue beats, “Arranca” is the perfect summer jam that people can dance to while at the beach. Becky G, who traveled to the Dominican Republic for the video, says: “We had so much fun. We didn’t have a lot of security. The production team had the idea of filming in Boca Chica.”
She also proudly mentioned that the entire crew was made up of women: “I respectfully wanted to take advantage of this country’s talent; therefore, we chose a Dominican team for this video.”
Speaking of her first-time ever collaboration with Omega, Becky G admitted: “I love to collaborate with different artists, but after my featuring song with El Alfa, we had so much fun, and he told me I should be making more music with Dominicans.”
The video stands out with its heavenly setting, highlighting the clear blue waters and the sunny beaches. It’s a full on summer party where people can let go and have fun to the Caribbean rhythms and good vibes.
“Arranca” is the first release from Becky G in 2023. The talented star had last shared “Amantes” with Daviles de Novelda.
