Hey EDM fans! Get ready for some exciting news from SBTRKT, the electronic music project of English producer Aaron Jerome. He has just announced his third album, “The Rat Road,” set for release on May 5th, with the lead single “Waiting” already out now.
“The Rat Road” is a solo effort by SBTRKT, with him playing every instrument and handling all production and mixing. In a statement, he revealed it’s his “most sonically ambitious record to create, following my own musical path, which isn’t based on others’ perceptions of what SBTRKT should be.”
The album is inspired by “the rat race,” as SBTRKT opens up about his challenging experiences in the music industry and life in general, which many can relate to. “Waiting” features the talented Teezo Touchdown, a Texas-based vocalist and Tyler, The Creator collaborator. SBTRKT discovered him through his 2021 song “I’m Just a Fan” and they connected when Teezo was on tour in London.
SBTRKT’s “The Rat Road” will also feature his late 2022 release “FORWARD” featuring LEILAH, though the full tracklist hasn’t been revealed yet.
