Shakira’s successful musical comeback has catapulted her to the top of the charts and earned her three Premio Lo Nuestro nominations. The Colombian recording artist would participate in the categories of Female Pop Artist of the Year, Pop Collaboration of the Year, and Pop-Urban Song of the Year during the 35th iteration of the Latin music competition.
With her most recent singles, “Te Felicito,” “MonotonĆa,” and the “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” Shakira is stealing the show despite SebastiĆ”n Yatra leading the nominations this year with ten mentions, followed closely by Bad Bunny, Camilo, Becky G, and Grupo Firme, who each have nine mentions.
The latter put the artist at the top of Spotify’s Top 50 Global list, despite the fact that it debuted in 2023 and is therefore not eligible for a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination. The viral duet also broke the record for the most streaming by a track on a particular day in Colombia and Spain, becoming the Latin song with the most streams in a single day in 2023.
Shakira could be receiving an award, but as of this writing, it is uncertain if she will attend the ceremony. However, her supporters and music reviewers think she might.
The program will be televised live on Univision on Thursday, February 23, at 7 PM ET, with the subject “El Mundo Es Lo Nuestro.”
There are 192 nominees in 39 categories, representing a variety of musical genres. Premio Lo Nuestro nominations are determined by Uforia’s radio airplay throughout the eligibility period (which runs from October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022). A committee of experts’ review and streaming are also considered.
Fans may support their preferred artist by casting a vote on the PremioLoNuestro.com website starting on February 5.
