There’s a lot of drama revolving around the upcoming Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, especially concerning the list of performers. Till now, so many A-list names have been mentioned, but only a few confirmed. There was speculation that superstars like J Balvin, Dua Lipa, and Shakira would be joining the international lineup that includes JungKook (BTS) and Black Eyed Peas.
In addition to Dua Lipa, who already confirmed that she will not take part in the event, it seems Shakira will also not be performing at the grand opening ceremony of the Fifa World Cup. As per Marca Magazine, the Barranquilla star has decided to back out due to personal reasons.
According to this original news, the “Waka Waka” hitmaker was going to be part of the opening show, however, it’s been confirmed by Sandra Aladro, a contributor to the Telecinco program, that Shakira won’t be performing, “She was going to be a guest performer, now she will have to send a statement to explain everything.”
Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony will take place on November 20 at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. The world famous football competition will kick off with Ecuador playing against the host country.
