University students who are admirers of Taylor Swift are giddy with envy after learning that an Ontario university will offer a whole course for credit based on her works.
The ENGL 294 course will be given in person in fall 2022 at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and will be worth three units.
Part of her 2019 acceptance speech as the first recipient of Billboard’s Woman of the Decade Award is used in the course description: “This was the decade in which I became a mirror for my critics; whatever they said I couldn’t do, I did; whatever they said about me became fodder for musical satires or uplifting choruses.”
Eh there are lots of people wanting to take this course who have a 4.0 gpa, no student loans or debt, etc. Itās really just an elective (for fun!) and not a whole program š not a huge deal as some critics are making it

the queenās u taylor swift course function like any other engl course that focuses on a particular author. itās primarily a close reading of her lyrics in connection to her literary allusions and the society around her just like weād do for austin or chaucer or pope so stfu
