Henley and Partners, the international residency and citizenship advisory firm has just released its annual passport index for the year 2021. You can find the document in its entirety here.
Here are some of the highlights from the list:
- The number one passport in the world is tied between Japan and Singapore. Citizens from either one of these countries have a visa-free score of 192.
- Europe dominates the top spots with Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Finland, Spain, Denmark, and Austria making it in the top 10.
- The bottom three countries are Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria – each of which had a score of less than 30.
The Henley Passport Index is based on data from the International Air Transport Authority, also known as IATA. It provides information on 199 passports as well as over 200 various travel destinations. It is regularly updated and has been internationally recognized as the standard reference when it comes to passport rankings and relevant topics for over 15 years.
