Papa Johnâs is in a hurry to add 20,000 new team members, offering prospective employees the opportunity to interview and start the same day. Itâs the third major hiring spree for Papa Johnâs since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March 2020.
As the labor crisis continues for pizza chains and independents alike, Papa Johnâs will make it easier for recruits to start working and making money right away. âFor anyone looking for immediate ways to earn an income, weâre making it quick and simple to apply, interview and be hired at Papa Johnâs,â said Marvin Boakye, the chainâs chief people and diversity officer. âWe want to add talented team members to our Papa Johnâs family across the country to deliver food safely to our customersâ doorsteps.â
The surge in COVID-19 cases nationwide also adds urgency to Papa Johnâs hiring plans, since the demand for delivery and carryout will likely remain high around the country. âWe are in the unique positionâas a restaurant that specializes in delivery and carryoutâto help our communities through this crisis,â Boakye noted.
In most cases, applicants can expect to be interviewed and potentially go to work on the same day, the company said. Job seekers can apply at the Papa Johnâs jobs website or text JOBS to 47272.
Papa Johnâs has been working aggressively to hire new employees since the pandemic began. The company announced it was looking for 20,000 new workers in March 2020 and went on a second hiring spree for 10,000 employees in late July of that same year. At that time, Papa Johnâs said it would expand its Dough & Degrees program, which provides college tuition benefits to its employees and their families.
The chain also provided holiday bonuses to about 14,000 front-line team members at its corporate restaurants and supply chain in December 2020.
